In the rifled gun barrel small-caliber, the bore is represented with conventional numbers that they report to the measure in cent or thousandth of inch.
In the smooth-bore gun barrel the bore is indicated with a number correspondent to the number of spherical balls of lead having equal diameter to that one of the cane which they can be obtained from one pound of lead.
