International
System of units
|
Is
at least obligatory to dedicate some lines to the
INTERNATIONAL SYSTEM, and its constitution. All
it is born from the requirement to use common units
of measure for the quantification and the measure
of the physical quantity, for favor the commercial
exchanges and the scientific studies, between persons
of the same, or different nation. To such sense
in 1875, in those of Paris, the single representatives
of 17 countries, gathered in order to approve of
the CONVENTION on the METER, and consequently to
adopt the Units for the Measure of the lengths.
In contemporary the international organism of the
metrology saw the light also: the Conférence
Générale des Poids et Mésures (CGPM). In
the course of the years they have been inserted
other fundamental units, until arriving to the 7
fundamental quantity, with the 2 additional units
currently in use in International System, multiple
and the decimal submultiples, and the other derived
units. Finally it is worth the pain remembering
that in Europe before the adoption of the metric
system they were used, in order to determine the
distances, is the inch (inch) that the foot (foot):
in France, 1 inch = 2.708 cm; 1
foot = 32.5 cm
in Germany, 1 inch = 2.6 cm; 1
foot = from 25 to 34 cm
in Russia, 1 foot = 30 cm.
To notice that in Italy the inch Anglo-Saxon is,
for some measures standardized, still widely used,
in such sense go cited the diameter of the tubes to hydraulic use,
the height of the magnetic tapes, the floppy disk,
etc. |
